Newman was the builder of the "Esquire" line of fiberglass boats. They began operations in Commerce, OK in 1959. They eventually moved to North Miami, OK where their factory was leveled by a fire on 31 March 1966. They did rebuild.
George Newman had worked at Blue Star Manufacturing Co. of Miami, OK prior to forming Newman Industries. He was a sales representative starting in September 1955. He came to Blue from Norton-Littleton.
