P-14 Boats is a rather interesting case. According to a 1957 ad, Wilmar Distributing Company offered of Pasadena, California offered manufacturing distributorships on the franchise scheme such that Wilmar would provide the molds and an array of geographically dispersed companies would manufacture the boats. W.V. "Doe" Peeling headed up the company and designed the P-14.
In 1957, these companies were noted to have P-14 manufacturing distributorships:
Sunde & d' Evers Company of Seattle, Washington
Hiway Products Inc. of Canby, Oregon, known to have marketed Seaswirl Boats.
Fiberfab of Stockton, California
Fiberform Products of Paramount, California
Later references have been found to the following companies as well:
Motor Boat Distribution Co. of 2611 N. Rosemead Blvd., El Monte, California.
Pilot Grove Boat Co., Pilot Grove, Missouri, maker of Pilot Boats.
Pacific Fibercraft of Oregon might also have been a manufacturer of P-14 Boats
Companies may have offered the P-14 among various other models. Hiway Products lists P-14 as a model in the Seaswirl line of boats according to its 1960 brochure. Pilot Grove appears to have done the same with their Pilot line of boats. (Pilot Grove Boat Co. was succeeded in 1962 by MFF, Missouri Fiberglass Fabricating, Inc. of Ashley Rd., Boonville, Missouri).
