Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. was based at Peshtigo, WI. They started in 1904. In 1925 they established a branch factory at Cortland, NY.
Effective 01 January 1959 the Cortland, NY operation was spun-off and became an independant corporation called "Thompson Boat Company of New York, Inc." From that point forward, it competed against Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. which continued to operate at Peshtigo, WI.
Thompson Boat Company of New York, Inc. at Cortland, NY was purchased by Chris-Craft Corp. in January 1962 and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Chris-Craft. Chris-Craft never had any affiliation with Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. of Peshtigo, WI.
