In 1958, Viking expanded its line to include four fiberglass hull models. Previously in 1957, it offered its R-15 runabout with an aluminum hull and fiberglass deck. Eldon Frasier was in charge of the fiberglass operation. Reportedly he had 14 years of fiberglass experience with Firestone. Besides boats, the fiberglass plant would produce bath tubs, tanks, liners, and mobile home parts.
