Surfrider Boats

Location also found as Somerset, Kentucky which may be a later location.
Production began in 1962 at Aero-Marine's Dunlap, Indiana factory (The Skipper magazine, Vol. 22, 1962). Surfrider was advertised at Elkhart, Indiana in 1965 (Yachting, Vol. 118, 1965).
The following was drawn from 1970 US Tax Cases Vol 69, Part 2:
The founder of Aero-Marine Development Corp, Donald C. Niblock Jr. organized the company about October 10, 1961 with Merlin Alson, each owning 50% of stock for which they each invested $2500. Aero-Marine began by selling airplanes and later the manufacture and sale of fiberglass boats. Niblock resigned on August 26, 1963 and formed Surf Rider, Inc. after he left Aero-Marine on September 1963. Subsequently in 1964 he sold 50% of the Surf Rider stock for $20,000. Previous businesses included Hart Mobile Homes and Niblock Flying Service.
