Sea King boats, trailers, and outboards were sold by Montgomery Wards but were built by a variety of manufacturers such as Speed Queen, Fort Dodge, and Span America. The line of outboards motors were built by Gale (a division of OMC) and later on by West Bend/Chrysler. Carl P. Stapleton was sporting goods department manager for Montgomery Wards & Company in 1959 (May 14, 1959 Wall Street Journal).
