I picked up the final piece of the puzzle this week. I snagged a complete 1961 800 FGS. Ive owned and sold several L6 motors over the years but the 800 has hid from me for a long time. I don't plan to keep a million of these things. But I want to have a 60 cube 66 cube 76 cube 89 cube93 cube and 99 cube motor for display/use .

This is what I have, and want to display someday if possible: 1957 MK 75 (60) <the motor that started it all) 1960 700DR (66) 1961 800FGS (76) 1962 1000 (89) 1966 1100 (93) and 1975 1500 (99).

This list is my favorite motor from this cubic inch class. I own a lot of 99 cubic inch motors. But the 1975 1500 short with louvered cowls is my favorite.
So now I have them all, and they all need restorations. They all will be short shafts too. :) This will be a long journey.

The 800 on the left and a parts 1962 1000 on the right I got on a recent trip.

Hope you guys are well, I don't get logged in here very often, Conrad

Sweet! The Doc will be envious, he covets those chrome "Mercury" letters!

I have fond memories of the first Six I ever bought, a 700E Dockbuster for $25, back in the 80's. Fixed the points & water pump, threw it on a 13-1/2" Sea King runabout, and skied all summer. She ran like a dream, too! I still have the old hulk, but she's a long way from ever running again. Maybe one of these days! Cheers..........ed

I'm a real nut-case when it comes to the old cloud whites.
Here are a few "in progress" in the Mercury Magic Shoppe.
Slow progress due to the "sunshine boater's" demands, but putt'g along as time allows.
Doc
sigh,...Yes,...One is a Phantom Black in disguise
