Its finally time to replace the 60 year old cable on my Ark Traveler. does anyone know the size cable used in the original manufacturing of the old boats? I cut a piece off to take to the hardware store and compare, but before i go all the way there I figured I would ask the experts.

Thanks

Our local farm equipment store sells it by the foot. Two different sizes. I would get the heavier, I think it's rated by amount of weight it will hold. Make sure when you measure you account for the number of turns on your helm and also the extra footage you will need at the motor end to zig-zag back and forth between pulleys and springs plus extra length for the fasteners and adjustments.
