The colors have been picked !!! But:

Just curious ?
All opinions will be taken into consideration.... as long as I agree :)
I need the opinions good or bad... I know black is a b*tch for blemished AND sun for passengers.... BUT ?

The canvas:

A or B ?

A: Black on pink ?

B: Pink on Black ?

My opinion doesn't really matter... my own choice is B: pink top because I like to rest my forearm on the gunnel of the boat and it seems like my passengers do too... so less burned forearms. Keeps people from splashing water on it all the time to cool it down and I might be running dirty water. Nice color combo either way!

that is what I'm afraid of with a black top ? but with a black hull ? It has to be perfect smooth or any shortcut will show ?
Am I lazy to make it perfect :)?
But I'm most scared that If I do it wrong ? Jan will call me names and make fun of my mom ! :) After all I already have a big strike against me because it's an outboard !!! Lord knows if anyone here said they owned a pontoon boat ? He'd show up to your house to perform an exercism ?

A!!! All day long A!!!!!

The issue is the aluminum trim on A lends itself pretty well to the paint scheme. A lot of black is quite often Too much black. You're gonna have to decide who you want the boat to look good for; people in other boats or the people riding inside the cockpit. Also you are spot on correct about black paint and human feet and forearms. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Good luck.

Did you give some thought to repeating the color again to be a pink/black/pink or black/pink/black and break up the side color by following the body lines and make a wide band type stripe and then the last color above the waterline so it is seen before going under water? Less black to get perfect yet decide how much of the side is one color compared to the other. Just some random thoughts to ponder. Can't wait to see your final work of Art.

That combo would not be my first choice but the old sayings about opinions still holds true.
I would agree with Mark, pink on top. I had a shell lake with a black interior and believe me you don't want to be out on a sunny day. OVEN!

Sorry for the late reply, I've been laid up. Anyway Chuck, I have to admit I'm am not a big fan of Pink and Black, I'm more of an aqua guy but I think I'm with DR GO about doing a three color so you break up the Back somewhat. Yes that black will peel skin when it gets hot. Just my 2 cents.

I'd be inclined to do a 1956 Ford two-tone blue with white. I'd paint the topsides white with dark blue stripes, the hull and transom light blue, the waterline white and everything below that dark blue. If laid out right, it would look great and have that vintage look. Lots of options for matching upholstery as well...but that's just me.

Chartreuse and orange is the way to go. Maybe some pink and yellow daises like the old VW vans.

Your boat, your colors....we can choose to stare and debate colors or look away because it is just too cool. Next owner one day can change it and make it their own if they don't like your final decision, just like you are doing now. I am sure whatever you decide, you will rock it and it will find its way to the water for all to see...its all smiles from there.
