TOPIC: I'm Back!!

My work computer/network didn't play well with the FG site for the last few years, so I didn't get a chance to check in as frequently as I would have liked. I don't surf much at home, so except for the occasional check in, I haven't posted much. Well, something has changed in the ether, because I happened to click on a link to the site the other day and it came up with no error messages! Whoohoo!

Since I was last here as a regular contributor, I've added a new boat to the fleet - a 1977 Hydrostrem Ventura II, which will be getting a full rebuild in the next few years. It's behind my 19-foot twin cockpit inboard in the queue. Hoping to get that one wet this year.

Nice boat and cool color. I always liked that model. I saw one go pretty good with a V - 4 Evinrude. Not much of the bottom was wet when he was "flying" it. Good luck with your projects.

Thanks. That's actually exactly what I've got for a motor for it. I have all the "good" bits and piece to build a 140 hp crossflow V4 Johnrude. Complete with 1976 Johnson 135 cowling for more of a period look. The rest of the motor will be 1980s era goodies.

Sweat! That will be a rocket sled. We will all have to wait for first boat to get done (which I would love to see too)... before we get to see pictures of the stream at speed... a few motor progress pictures along the way would always be welcome to see. Fun stuff!

Yep, it was weird. I figure it had some incompatibility between my work network and the FG site, maybe something in the virus protection software. No idea. In any case, it seems to have rectified itself!
